I Love My Job!

One of my most prized roles as a Support Manager with Classical Conversations is that twice a year I get to travel to all the CC Communities within my area.  The purpose?  To get to know the new moms, reconnect with old familiar faces, and to see all the wonderful things each community is doing.

Today's visit was Clearwater!

OH MY!  How I loved these incredible families.  They were warm and welcoming and full of HIS everlasting love.  Their students were precious and delightful.

Amber, their tutor for the 7 year old class did an AMAZING job drilling the rich information Classical Conversations presents to our students each week.

She was so good to stay on time and even worked with a timer in her hand.  It looked effortless.

Clearwater has a large 4 year old class.

Their parents were super involved.

My favorite part was watching mom take notes in her guide.  You know this helps her to walk out her homeschool effortlessly the other four days she works out of her home.

Science was FUN as they walked through SunPrints.

They drilled the grammar of the sun.

The students had a great time prepping their sunPrint sheets.

Waiting for them to dry

Thank you for letting come and play with you Clearwater.  You guys were the BEST!

Renewing our heart through the Freedom Workshop....

"Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord" Isaiah 1:18

"He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less" John 3:30

PRECIOUS TRUTH

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.  So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.  For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.

Romans 8:5-7&11

"For God is working IN YOU, giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what pleases Him.  Phil 2:13

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.  This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

Hebrews 4:12-15

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16

Week NINE.....SUNPRINTS!

Jacob's Masters Class W/ Mrs. Dennison

Sunprint FUN!

This week we learned all about the sun and the role it plays in our lives and in our solar system.

We had a blast going outside and playing with sunprint paper.

This is a picture of one of our tutors using a wonderful picture book to drill interesting facts to their students about the sun.

We found that the heavier the item the better the print.

Mrs. Higgins brought buttons and real life plants to add to the sun fun

It was fun watching the little imaginations ignite

Look at those little faces deep in thought.  So precious.  I have the best job in the whole wide world!

Mrs. Higgins class is also known as the twin class.  Two sets to go around!

Mrs. Mullins did an excellent job subbing for Mrs. Buxbaum today.  Those girls had FUN!

Look at our all boys class.  They make such a great team.

The hardest part is waiting for the sunprint paper to dry so we could see the full exposure.

Little Lukey and his solar system inspiration

My favorite photo of the day.

Jennifer is such an excellent mommy.  I know that I could have learned a lot from Jennifer when my children were young.

“Come to me, I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your soul. Matthew 11:28-29

Fall Flag Football

We are so blessed to be a part of an excellent christian athletic organization.  It's called Calvary Sports.  They did such an incredible job organizing the teams and working out the times.  Seth is on the older team.  He's one of the smaller boys for the older age group.  Jacob and Joshy are on the second oldest team.  They both LOVED it!  Josh and Jake made two tackles (flags) and Seth made three.

Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size jersey's and had to ask them to be exchanged.  Hopefully we'll have them next Saturday.

Seth thought his coaches and the team were GREAT!

They started with drills

Practiced different plays

And then moved right into a real game.

Jacob was thrilled to see his old baseball coach when he walked on the field.

Sethy was totally focused

And fast

Though he needs to work on catching the ball;-)

And he did....he DID!

Huddle and teaching time

This picture cracked me up.  Jacob is just like his mama.  It's all about social networking....

Go Team!

I loved watching these two brothers play on the sideline

Can I just tell you that this was the best ice cold water I've ever had.  I brought water for the boys and forgot one for me.  After sitting in the hot sun for two hours I was parched.  My precious friend Angela offered me a cold bottle of water and it was the best gift anyone had ever given me.

At the end the coaches lead the boys in a devotional

Notice that almost all of them chose the shade.  They were HOT!

So thankful for this life and for my family.  Lord, don't ever let me take these precious gifts for granted.
