Finding My Groove With My New Planner!

If you follow my blog you know that I purchased my second "Much Ado About You" planner this year.  The only difference is that I went with the larger size and a different design.

I have to admit that I was struggling with the bigger planner at first.  It doesn't fit in my purse at all and it's not as easy to tote places with me.  But one morning I decided to change my attitude and instead of focusing on what I didn't like I began seeking out ways to make this planner work for me!

Some of my favorite things with the new bigger planner:

One of the things I am enjoying is journaling something about my day in each square of my month-at-a-glance.  This idea actually came from my Grandmother who does that with her wall calendars.  She began when she retired from teaching 24 years ago.

I also like highlighting the box on days I have appointments outside my home.  This is visually rewarding when I want to quickly glance at my week in advance!

I LOVE the new longer columns that are separated into 15 minute segments.  I sit down every weekend and fill out my weekly grid from my month-at-a-glance calendar.

My goal this year is to actually have LESS on my calendar so I have more time to be the wife, mom, daughter, and friend God made me to be.  To God be the Glory!

First Day Of Challenge "A"!

 Mrs. Arnold's Challenge A Class!

What a joy and delight it was to launch our new Challenge A program.  I'm so honored that the Lord has called me to walk with such amazing families as seek his wisdom.

I'm so thankful that Mrs. Mullins willingly stepped up to tutor our math seminar thread.  She did such a phenomenal job!  Thank you, Christa!

New Season!

I have been so hesitant to post that our family is attending a new church.  You see, my heart is torn and feels deep conflicting emotions.

We are so very thankful to Calvary Chapel for being our "home" the past 14 years.  They are my family.  I have so many special memories that I will never forget.  However, right now, in this moment, it looks as though the Lord has moved us to a new church.

We began attending back in late April or early May.  GulfCoast was actually a church we had considered back when we had babies, but after trying it and praying we felt the Lord lead us to stay at Calvary Chapel.  My baby is now 10 years old, so that tells you how long ago that was. (smile)

My precious friend Rita has been attending for years.  This woman has been a spiritual mother to me in many ways.  As I walked through a very difficult situation recently, I was blessed by her loving and tender counsel.  My heart felt overwhelmed to attend service with her.  I saw the richness of the teaching taking place through her life.  Her life has been an example.  She loves Jesus.

One of my biggest fears in moving from Calvary was trusting leadership elsewhere. I deeply trust and love the leadership at Calvary Chapel......... Danny Hodges, Bob Corry, Jim O'Connor.

I love how Calvary Chapel is committed to teaching through the Word expositorily.  It was with a huge sigh of relief, and a grateful heart that we found GulfCoast does teach expositorily.  Pastor Jerry is a humble, surrendered & strong leader.  We have appreciated how much we continue to learn through this teaching.

I don't know exactly why the Lord had us make this move but It has been a JOY and DELIGHT!

I'm so thankful that I get to stay completely in touch with my Calvary friends and get to make new ones.

I want to seek HIS will and no other.  I don't know what the future holds.  I don't know if we're here for a season or if this is a life move?  But I do know the ONE who holds all those answers completely in his hands and I will wait on him to show me.

For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a HOPE and a FUTURE! ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Katie, did such a beautiful job equipping our Foundation Tutors.

She followed the truly Classical way of learning by modeling a normal New Grammar segment.

Can A Colonoscopy Draw You Closer To The Lord?

I am so thankful for all the prayers and encouragement regarding my colonoscopy procedure today.  I think all of you know that this was brought on because of a family history of colon cancer, (grandmother) suspicious symptoms, and labs that showed unaccounted anemia.  This all began in April and so I'm thankful for it to finally be over.

We received such great news.  He said my colon is beautiful! (grinning)  He even took pictures but I thought I would spare you. (LOL)

God is completely glorified because Christ used this experience to draw me close to his heart early this morning while up doing the prep.

As you know my Father had Colon cancer and suffered greatly.  I'm still in that surreal place of forgetting many times that he is gone.  When a memory pops up I purposely put it away and get busy doing something else.

However, I am learning that sadness can bring a holy purpose.  The emotion, even though it's uncomfortable, (Or perhaps because it IS uncomfortable) causes me to cling to my heavenly father like nothing else!

Avoiding the pain through busyness keeps the focus on "me" and what "I" can do to forget.

God loves me so much that he uses any and all circumstances to draw me close to him.  Believe me, I had no idea how something like the intense prep process would do that very thing!
The prep process has you fast for 24-36 hours from any solid foods.  This alone causes clarity.  In addition, my prescription had me drink the horrible concoction at 5pm and again at 2am.  After you drink it you're then up for several hours busily getting your body ready for the upcoming procedure.

The 5pm drink was not bad because I was surrounded by my family.  BUT when the 2am prep time came everyone was asleep.  Out of nowhere I found myself thinking about my precious dad.  I started thinking about how sick he was during his cancer and chemo.  Memories from when I was a little girl and all the sweet things he ever did began to overwhelm my heart.  The loss felt brand new, overwhelming, oppressing.

God was faithful!

Because there was no one to call or talk to at 3 in the morning I had to cling to the one who knows me best and loves me most.  I know that the uncomfortable emotions at any other time of day would have caused me to pick up the phone and distract myself with a conversation.  Instead, I had to turn completely to Jesus and he was faithful to turn tears into joy.  He reminded me (again) that this world is not my home.  This life is fleeting.  My home is heaven.  It's my hope!

I'm thankful for a good result from the procedure, but I'm even more thankful for the God-moment that he allowed to take place.  It was such a precious time with the Lord.  The world was asleep and it was just He and I.  He truly is the great comforter.

You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.~ Psalm 119:114

Meet Our New Baby Girl....Zoe!

Our hearts were aching after losing our Precious three weeks ago.  She was so old, but we adored her.  Towards the end she could barely walk, could no longer jump up on the couch, and had trouble breathing.  The vet confirmed this and we said goodbye.

Precious will never be forgotten.

However, after three weeks of sadness we felt like nothing would heal our hearts better than a new baby kitten.

On 7/25,  Colton picked out our baby Zoe.

Welcome newest Arnold baby!

Zoe's first appointment with our vet!

She weighs 2.5 pounds and is 10 weeks old.

Jacob was assisting our vet tech.

My nephew Jacob was comforting her after they took her temperature.

Apparently, Zoe didn't like me taking pictures and started biting the wrist holder, LOL!

Zoe's doctor and nurse.  She passed with flying colors.
