Boys! Boys! Boys!

Oh how I love being the mama to four boys.  The Lord knew that these amazing men of mine were going to bring great joy to my life.  I imagined little girls, ballet, make-up, and nails.  But God knew better.  I'm so thankful that YOU know my tomorrows when all I can see is today.

My Alpha, my Brandon is my humorous, sensitive, communicator.  Thank you Brandon for being my first little guinea pig.  Thank you for loving me even though I made more mistakes with you than any other.  I am so proud of the man you've turned into.  I am praying for you this year as you begin to fly!

My number two, my Colton.  My responsible, organized, caring young man.  I am so thankful that this year it's our turn to walk through school together.  I look forward to the conversations and the laughter.  I'm praying for you this year as you begin your journey into independence.

My number three, my Seth.  My serious, responsible, relator.  I'm so excited that daddy is doing Essentials with you this year at Classical Conversations.  How cool is that?!  I'm praying for you this year as we begin working on you having your own daily quiet times.  Shine for HIS glory Sethy!

My Omega!  My Jacob!  My joyful, strong belief, and sensitive son.  This is your year, Jacob. I'm nervous and excited to watch you begin Essentials.  I love watching you bring humor to your writing and steadfastness to your beliefs.

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” ~ Romans 12:4-5

Classical Conversations Wins a HUGE Award!

Classical Conversations placed #1 in the NATION for our incredible geography and music programs!

Every year, The Old Schoolhouse magazine does a national poll of homeschoolers from all over this great country.  Companies wait with baited breathe to see how their program stacked up against the others.  It is truly an honor and privilege to win such an award.

In 15 years of homeschooling Five In A Row and Classical Conversations have been my two biggest hits!
The one thing CC offers is that it equips parents (me) to become a better teacher.  As I take on the role of humble learner myself it builds my passion for my calling, homeschooling!
Classical Conversations trains my whole family to become a part of our children's educational experience.  I love that Colton is learning how to draw the whole world by hand this year.  I get to learn right along with him!  The Lord is redeeming two educations.....his and mine.

To see the full scope of homeschool awards and all the commentary we should be able to pick up our own copies of The Old Schoolhouse magazine next month at Barnes and Nobles!

To GOD be the glory!

Finding My Groove With My New Planner!

If you follow my blog you know that I purchased my second "Much Ado About You" planner this year.  The only difference is that I went with the larger size and a different design.

I have to admit that I was struggling with the bigger planner at first.  It doesn't fit in my purse at all and it's not as easy to tote places with me.  But one morning I decided to change my attitude and instead of focusing on what I didn't like I began seeking out ways to make this planner work for me!

Some of my favorite things with the new bigger planner:

One of the things I am enjoying is journaling something about my day in each square of my month-at-a-glance.  This idea actually came from my Grandmother who does that with her wall calendars.  She began when she retired from teaching 24 years ago.

I also like highlighting the box on days I have appointments outside my home.  This is visually rewarding when I want to quickly glance at my week in advance!

I LOVE the new longer columns that are separated into 15 minute segments.  I sit down every weekend and fill out my weekly grid from my month-at-a-glance calendar.

My goal this year is to actually have LESS on my calendar so I have more time to be the wife, mom, daughter, and friend God made me to be.  To God be the Glory!

What a joy and delight it was to launch our new Challenge A program.  I'm so honored that the Lord has called me to walk with such amazing families as seek his wisdom.

I'm so thankful that Mrs. Mullins willingly stepped up to tutor our math seminar thread.  She did such a phenomenal job!  Thank you, Christa!

New Season!

I have been so hesitant to post that our family is attending a new church.  You see, my heart is torn and feels deep conflicting emotions.

We are so very thankful to Calvary Chapel for being our "home" the past 14 years.  They are my family.  I have so many special memories that I will never forget.  However, right now, in this moment, it looks as though the Lord has moved us to a new church.

We began attending back in late April or early May.  GulfCoast was actually a church we had considered back when we had babies, but after trying it and praying we felt the Lord lead us to stay at Calvary Chapel.  My baby is now 10 years old, so that tells you how long ago that was. (smile)

My precious friend Rita has been attending for years.  This woman has been a spiritual mother to me in many ways.  As I walked through a very difficult situation recently, I was blessed by her loving and tender counsel.  My heart felt overwhelmed to attend service with her.  I saw the richness of the teaching taking place through her life.  Her life has been an example.  She loves Jesus.

One of my biggest fears in moving from Calvary was trusting leadership elsewhere. I deeply trust and love the leadership at Calvary Chapel......... Danny Hodges, Bob Corry, Jim O'Connor.

I love how Calvary Chapel is committed to teaching through the Word expositorily.  It was with a huge sigh of relief, and a grateful heart that we found GulfCoast does teach expositorily.  Pastor Jerry is a humble, surrendered & strong leader.  We have appreciated how much we continue to learn through this teaching.

I don't know exactly why the Lord had us make this move but It has been a JOY and DELIGHT!

I'm so thankful that I get to stay completely in touch with my Calvary friends and get to make new ones.

I want to seek HIS will and no other.  I don't know what the future holds.  I don't know if we're here for a season or if this is a life move?  But I do know the ONE who holds all those answers completely in his hands and I will wait on him to show me.

For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a HOPE and a FUTURE! ~ Jeremiah 29:11
